Past Grand Slam Winners And Their Lifestyle Today

Do you really wonder what exactly the past grand slam winners are doing these days?

Yeah, most of us are really curious to know about them, what they do now. Once they had been on the top of the world. Being a Grand Slam winner would be the pinnacle of anyone’s life. It seldom made people curious, especially when they themselves entering into the same sport… Exactly! What do they do with themselves, not only after they’ve won one, but after they have retired? Whether they are busychannelling their competitive spirits elsewhere or just staying away from the limelight, it’s interesting to see what their lifestyle is now and what they up to… Let’s know what they are up to

Stefi Graf and Andre Agassi

Personally my favourites, both of them are still going strong. Married since 2001, as a couple they are great and still hit the court for charity and exhibition events, own and invest in businesses and raise two children together. They established a company called ‘Agassi Graf Holdings’ which has done everything from invest in Las Vegas nightclubs, launch a furniture lined named Agassi Graf Collection. Besides their various business ventures they both still boast lucrative sponsorship and brand ambassador deals with companies such as 24 Hour Fitness, Jacobs Creek and Longines. Agassi and Graf are also very involved in their own foundations, The Andre Agassi Foundation for Education (AAFE) and the Children for Tomorrow respectively. This Grand Slam power couple is continued to give their best even today…

Rod Laver

The 11 time Grand Slam Champion is happily retired now in sunny California but his legacy lives on. He often seen attending Grand Slam championships, especially at The Australian Open where center court is named after him. Laver showed his champion spirit after his career ended considering he had to learn how to play tennis all over again after he suffered a stroke in 1999. Also, Adidas announced that they were bringing back the Classic Rod Laver Super.

Bjorn Borg

11-time Grand Slam champion, Bjorn Borg disappeared from the professional tour at the age of 26, which was shocking. Since that time he made short lived and long-haired comebacks, married and divorced a super model and even auctioned off his Wimbledon trophies during tough financial times. Living in the suburbs of Stockholm with his family, and owner of his own clothing lineBjörn Borg fashion label. In Sweden his label has become very successful, second only to Calvin Klein.

Monica Seles

In 1990, Seles became the youngest ever French Open champion at the age of 16. She went on to win eight Grand Slam singles titles before her 20th birthday and was the year-end world no. 1 in 1991 and 1992. She is a member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame. In 2009, Seles released her memoir Getting A Grip: On My Body, My Mind, My Self which chronicles her bout with depression and binge eating disorder (BED) after her stabbing, her father’s cancer diagnosis and eventual death, her journey back to the game and a life beyond tennis. She still speaks publicly concerning her struggles, hoping to help other who find themselves dealing with similar hardship. She had a tough but ultimately successful career and end up with a super-rich husband.

Pete Sampras

Sampras was one of the all-time gamers, widely regarded as one of the greatest in the history of the sport His 14 Grand Slam titles were a record. Besides playing exhibition matches, he does help out at clinics and a full time dad. In an interview with CNN he stated, “It’s definitely much different from my life as a tennis player. Everything was about me. What I was eating, what I was doing. I was traveling. Now it’s about my kids.”

Marat Safin

Known for his fiery temperament on the court, the two time Grand Slam winner Marat was elected to the Russian Parliament in 2011. He is a member of the United Russia Party, the same party of the US’s good buddy and meme legend Vladimir Putin. Safin, who was wildly inconsistent in play and demeanour is now into politics, his fans might have never projected this for him, perhaps.
